2016 MX-5 – CONSOLE MAT WARPING CAUSING POOR APPEARANCE
APPLICABLE MODEL(S)/VINS
2016 MX-5 vehicles with VINs lower than JM1ND******103512 (produced before July 9, 2015)
Some vehicles operating in places with high ambient temperatures may exhibit the console mat warping at the center part (A), causing a poor appearance.
The console mat is fixed at both ends and warpage of the center part is caused by heat influence.
To prevent the console mat from warping, double-sided adhesive tape (A) has been added between the console mat (B) and the console panel (C).
REPAIR PROCEDURE
- Replace the front console box assembly with a modified one according to the instructions on MS3 online or the Workshop Manual.
