Excessive Water Intrusion or Condensation of Halogen Headlight – 2016-2017 Mazda CX-3

2016-2017 CX-3 EXCESSIVE WATER INTRUSION OR CONDENSATION OF HALOGEN HEADLIGHT

Some customers may complain of condensation/fog inside the front halogen headlight. The halogen headlight assembly may be the cause.

Heavy/large amount of condensation on the lens is not normal.

Halogen Headlight

 

  1. Verify if the condition requires repair. Refer to TSB 09-003/16. Is a repair required?
    1. Yes – Proceed to step 2.
    2. No – This service alert does not apply.
  2. Check the halogen headlight assembly lot number. Is the lot number before 69S?
    1. Yes – Replace the headlight assembly.
Note: Verify that the new replacement part has a lot number of 69S or newer.
  1. No – proceed to step 3.

Subjected Headlights are DB4N-51-0K0 and DB4N-51-0L0, Halogen Headlight only

  1. Check for missing halogen headlight assembly bulb seals and/or socket covers. Refer to TSB 09-013/16. Are the seals missing.
    1. Yes –  Install missing seals.
    2. No – This service alert does not apply.
