DESCRIPTION

Some customers may complain of a creaking noise when driving through a dip or bump in the road while accelerating. This occurs when the vehicle is cold and cannot be duplicated once the vehicle is at normal operating temperature. The creaking noise may be caused by the #4 engine mount. The noise can easily be mistaken for suspension related components and is very difficult to diagnose.

If a customer has a vehicle communication related error on their APP,  perform the following:

  • Disconnect the battery or unplug the module for at least 10 seconds.
  • Reconnect the battery, wait 60 seconds and then have the customer try the APP again,
  • If the vehicle starts, order module 0000-8F-ZS0A.

If you encounter a vehicle with DTC P0137 (Circuit Low Input), check the rear harness at the red circled area in the following diagram . If an aftermarket alarm system is installed, the rear harness might have received damage from electro-tap connectors (A) or to the protector tube (B). This damage is not covered under Warranty.

DESCRIPTION

Some vehicles may experience a lack of engine power/rough idling and the check engine light on with one or more of the misfire related DTCs of P0300:00, P0301:00, P0302:00, P0303:00 and P0304:00. This concern may be caused by an internal failure of the ignition coil(s) due to a high difference between cold and warm ambient temperatures. The production method of the ignition coil has been changed to eliminate this concern.

NOTE: The ignition coils are supplied from two different vendors, YUMEBISHI and MITSUBISHI. This concern only occurs on YUMEBISHI- produced ignition coil.

To distinguish between YUMEBISHI and MITSUBISHI ignition coils, look at their lot numbers (A). YUMEBISHI have 4 digit lot numbers and MITSUBISHI have 5 digit lot numbers as shown.

DESCRIPTION

Some vehicles may experience an engine that runs rough and the check engine light on with DTCs P0201 and P0204 or P0202 and P0203.

NOTE: Engine misfire related DTCs (P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304) are usually stored at the same time.

P0201:00: Fuel injector circuit/open cylinder No.1

P0202:00: Fuel injector circuit/open cylinder No.2

P0203:00: Fuel injector circuit/open cylinder No.3

P0204:00: Fuel injector circuit/open cylinder No.4

This concern may be caused by an internal failure of the PCM (DENSO produced only). To correct the concern, the PCM internal failure has been eliminated.

Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.
