2014-2015 MAZDA3 (WITH MANUAL A/C) – AIR TEMPERATURE WILL NOT CHANGE
APPLICABLE MODEL(S)/VINS
2014-15 Mazda3 (Japan built with manual A/C) with VINS lower than JM1BM******247593 (produced before December 1, 2014)

Air temperature from the air conditioner will not change by the air temperature control knob, and may be accompanied by some rattle noise from inside of the dash board.
This concern may be caused by the temperature control link being pulled out of the HVAC housing. To correct the problem, the temperature control link has been modified.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
- Refer to the instructions on MS3 online or the Workshop Manual (section 07-40) and check that the MIX LINK (Air mix link/Temperature control link) (A) is properly connected to the MIX DOOR CRANK (B) and works while rotating the temperature control knob.
- If it works, this info does not apply. Refer to the instructions on MS3 online or Workshop Manual for troubleshooting and repair.
- If the MIX LINK is detached, proceed to the next step.
- Replace the MIX LINK with a modified one. Refer to MS3 online or the Workshop Manual (section 07-11). Make sure that the MIX LINK is fitted in the groove of the MIX DOOR CRANK and will not come out with movement.
