2017 MX-5 RF – CLICKING NOISE FROM ROOF WHILE DRIVING

DESCRIPTION
On some 2017 MX-5 RF models, a rattle or click noise may be heard from the roof while driving. This can be caused by contact of the roof stopper related brackets. One of the following dry lubricants can be applied to this area to correct this concern:
- WD-40 COMPANY WD-40 Specialist Dry Lube PTFE Spray
- RUSTOLEUM CORPORATION PTFE Dry Lubricant
- BLASTER CHEMICAL COMPANIES, INC. PTFE Dry Lube
Perform the following steps on both sides of the roof. (Driver’s side application is shown)
1. Access the stopper bracket area behind the roof trim.
2. Apply dry lube to the upper / back area of the stopper bracket.
3. Apply dry lube to the lower stopper bracket area.
4. Repeat for other side.
