2014-2015 MAZDA3 – ACTIVE DRIVING DISPLAY VIBRATES AND/OR CANNOT BE ADJUSTED TO A VIEWABLE POSITION
APPLICABLE MODEL(S)/VINS
2014-2015 Mazda3 vehicles with VINS lower than JM1BM******218352 (produced before July 1, 2014)
Active Driving Display (A) vibrates when driving over a bump and/or cannot be adjusted to a viewable position using the commander switch.
This is caused by the axis of the Active Driving Display popping out of position if the customer manually opens or closes the display, or closes the display with objects placed in the storage area (B) for the display.
To correct the problem, the shape of the shaft and bearing part has been changed to increase the insertion force, thereby making the display harder to pop out of position.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
- Visually compare the right and left side clearance between the Active Driving Display and the upper cover.
- If the right side clearance (A) is evidently smaller than the left side (B) as shown, the Active Driving Display has popped out of position. Proceed to the next step.
- If the clearances on both sides are almost the same, this is not applicable. Inspect for other causes.

- Replace the Active Driving Display (Heads Up Display) with a modified one according to the instructions on MS3 online or the Workshop Manual (section 09-10).
NOTE: Explain to the customer that the Active Driving Display should not be manually opened or closed, and to make sure that no objects are placed in the storage area for the display.
