2013-2016 CX-5 – RATTLE / VIBRATION NOISE AT 35-40 MPH
Rattle or buzz noise from the engine compartment when driving at 35-40 mph (approx. 1,800 rpm in 4th or 5th gear).
The noise may be caused by loose front grille upper panel screws (4) or missing plastic fasteners (2).
- Inspect the front grille upper panel screws (4) for looseness. If any of the screws are loose, re-tighten them to the proper specification:
Tightening Torque: 61 in-lbf (6.9 Nm, 70 kgf-cm)
- Remove the seal board upper cover and check for missing fasteners (2). Install plastic fasteners if missing.
Note: Fasteners may not have been reinstalled during a previous repair.
