MULTI-MODEL – SERVICE PARTS CHANGED FOR IMMOBILIZER UNIT

If the immobilizer unit LC62-67-5G2* or DC69-67-5G2* needs to be replaced with a new one, these parts are no longer available.
New alternative service parts kits are now available, including alternative immobilizer unit BJ3D-67-5G2L or TC91-67-5G2J. They will require the following additional procedure to be performed in order to work on the vehicle.
- Powertrain Control Module (PCM) has to be replaced with one in the kit.
- The parts kit has to be ordered for the specific VIN due to the necessary PCM replacement.
- Some vehicles need a wire connection change at the vehicle side connector for the immobilizer unit.
The service parts kit comes with a new immobilizer unit, PCM and related documents.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
- Replace “a” and “b”, and insert “c” (DECLARATION of CONFORMITY) into Owner’s Manual.
- In order to use this kit, it is necessary to change position of a terminal of the immobilizer unit connector (vehicle harness side) on some vehicles. Check “B” and “C” terminals of the immobilizer unit connector (vehicle harness side).
- If “B” is empty and “C” has a terminal, it is OK and no terminal position change is necessary.
- If “C” is empty and “B” has a terminal, remove “B” terminal and install it in “C” position.
