Some vehicles may experience MIL illumination with DTC P0455 stored in memory due to improperly tightened fuel filler cap.

P0455 – EVAP System Leak Detected (Large Leak)

Some fuel filler pipes may be out of specification and in some cases, may not allow the fuel filler cap to be fully tightened.

As a mass-production change, the fuel filler pipe and the fuel cap have been modified.

Depending on the vehicle VIN range, either the fuel filler pipe and/or fuel cap may need to be replaced.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

Perform MSP13 and/or replace the fuel cap or fuel filler pipe according to the chart. For fuel filler pipe, refer to MS3 online instructions or Workshop Manual section 01-14.
