2014-2016 Mazda3 vehicles with VINs lower than JM1BM******348039 (produced before April 18, 2016)
DESCRIPTION
Some vehicles may exhibit rust/paint blister (A) on the trunk lid around the license plate lights (B). This is caused by the paint coating on the welding spots not being thick enough. To correct this problem, a process to grind down the welding spots prior to painting has been added.
Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.

- Repair the concern using ordinary bodyshop rust/paint blister damage procedures.
NOTE: Repair affected area(s) only. There is no need to repaint the whole trunk lid. 3. Verify the repair
