2016 MX-5 – FRONT SCUFF PLATE COMES OFF TOO EASILY
APPLICABLE MODEL(S)/VINS
2016 MX-5 with VINS lower than JM1ND******101879 (produced before June 11, 2015)
The right and/or left side front scuff plate (A) may come off too easily with little force, such as when wiping it with cloth or removing the protective cover on it.
The retaining force of the scuff plate clips (B) may be insufficient. To correct the problem, the shape of the scuff plate clips has been changed to increase the retaining force.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
- Replace the affected side scuff plate(s) with the modified one(s) according to the instructions on MS3 online or the Workshop Manual (section 09-17).
