Soft Top Inner Cloth Detaches from J hook – 2016 Mazda MX-5

2016 MX-5 – CONVERTIBLE TOP INNER CLOTH DETACHES FROM J HOOK ON TOP OF BACK WINDOW

If the soft top inner cloth detaches easily from the J hook on top of the back window, the tension cloth might not be assembled properly.

 

Try the following procedure to correct this issue:

1. Detach the inner cloth (A) and tension cloth (B) from the J hook (C) completely.
2. Attach the tension cloth <rear joint plate> to the J hook properly.
3. Attach the inner cloth <inner rear joint plate> to the J hook properly.

 

Note: Turn down the edge (D) of the tension cloth <rear joint plate> (B) to attach to the J hook (C) properly.
