2013-2015 CX-5 – PAINT BLISTER / RUST SPOT ON LOWER LIFTGATE PANEL
APPLICABLE MODEL(S)/VINS
2013-2015 CX-5 with VINs lower than JM3 KE****** 523633 (produced before September 2, 2014)
Paint blister (A) and/or rust spot (B) on the lower portion of the liftgate panel as shown below.
The thickness of the paint may be insufficient, causing decreased corrosion resistance. However, the thickness of “clear” has been increased to eliminate this concern.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
- Repair any paint blisters and/or rust spots found on the lower portion of the liftgate using normal bodyshop repair procedures.
NOTE: Stone chipping damage is not covered under warranty.
