2013-2015 Mazda CX-5, 2014-2015 Mazda3 & Mazda6 Vehicles, the engine will turn off when the start/stop button is pressed, however the ignition will not fully turn off and will go to the accessory mode.
Ask the customer if they normally hang anything from the shifter, such as a bag or purse.
This could cause the shifter to not fully engage the PARK position on the “Not P”switch.
If the concern cannot be duplicated, SLOWLY and GENTLY put the shifter into park about 10 times while using IDS or Scan Tool to determine if “Not P” switch is faulty.
Use the SSU PID “P_RANGE_SW” to check if the vehicle is detecting the shifter is in PARK.
– If in PARK, continue diagnosis.
– If not in PARK, replace the Lever.
