2016 MX-5 CONVERTIBLE TOP CONTACTS REAR OF DRIVER’S HEADREST WHEN LOWERING
On brand new MX-5’s, the convertible top may contact the rear of the seat back bar garnish if the top is not lowered correctly.
Once the top is lowered / raised many times and the top fabric loosens up, this issue will go away.
When lowering the convertible top:
1) Move the top rearward and fold it while pressing the rear glass lightly with your hand.
2) With the top down, press the front end until a latch sound is heard.
3) Lightly rock the retracted top to make sure it is securely locked.
