2002-2008 B-SERIES TRUCKS – GRABBING CONDITION FROM REAR DRUM BRAKES

APPLICABLE MODEL(S)/VINS

2002-2009 B-Series Trucks

Some vehicles may experience a grabbing condition from the rear drum brake assemblies during the first few brake applications.

The condition only occurs after the vehicle has been parked for several hours.

To reduce moisture intrusion into the rear brake drums, silicone is used to seal the brake backing plate.

  2. Replace rear brake drum linings using MS3 online or Workshop Manual (section 04-11).

Friction component dust may be a cancer and lung disease hazard. Exposure to potentially hazardous components may occur if dusts are created during repair of friction components, such as brake pads and clutch discs.
